ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The podcast industry is taking off. With over 68 million Americans listening to podcasts on a monthly basis, podcasting is now considered one of the most accessible and digestible ways to engage with stories and ideas.
This three-hour introduction to podcasting course is designed to help you figure out the “why” of your podcast, your unique point-of-view, and your story to tell.
The class begins with brainstorming your unique podcast idea. Is it educational? Entertaining? And what story do you want to tell? We’ll workshop your potential audiences, your defined elevator pitch, and your storytelling format. And we’ll work our way toward the production process, plus publication and promotion of your show.
At the end of the class you’ll have the tools and resources you need to get your brilliant idea for a podcast out of your head and onto the airwaves.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Emily Stochl is a writer, producer, and podcast host. She writes, produces and hosts Pre-Loved Podcast, a new and inventive interview show about vintage and second-hand fashion. It’s available on iTunes, Spotify, and most other podcast streaming services.
INSTRUCTOR INSPIRATION STATEMENT
I’ve always loved vintage and slow fashion, but didn’t know I could make a difference sharing that passion until I discovered podcasting. From my spare bedroom in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I’ve connected with interesting and inspirational women in the slow fashion space who live across the globe, from Sydney to London to Brooklyn to Los Angeles. Together, we’ve told their stories and inspired more people to give slow fashion a try. Podcasting helped me find my voice, and even more so, it helped me find my community. I hope it can bring the same to you!
