Iowa City Book Festival Reading

  • Iowa City Public Library 123 South Linn Street Iowa City, IA, 52240 United States (map)

Join us for an Iowa City Book Festival's Saturday event featuring readings from Iowa newest collection of stories from immigrant and first generation writers. “We the Interwoven: An Anthology of Bicultural Iowa” brings us stories of three Americans—three Iowans—whose families have found home in the heartland over the past two generations. From the border towns of Mexico, the mystical land of Azerbaijan, and the Archipelago of the Philippines, authors Chuy Renteria, Sadagat Aliyeva, & Melissa Palma take us on a journey through what it means to be both an Iowan and of another cultural identity.

Published by the Iowa Writers' House in connection with the Bicultural Iowa Writers' Fellowship, “We the Interwoven” sold out of its first printing with in two months.

The reading will be followed by a Q&A from with series editor and director of the Iowa Writers' House, Andrea Wilson. Books can be purchased and signed on-sight. Authors will also be available for book signings between 11-1 at the Writers' House table at MERGE.
